ABSTRACT
The study presents the methodology and technical aspects of converting a city motorcycle from a combustion to electric drive using a prototype motorcycle vehicle built at the Faculty of Transport and Aviation Engineering of the Silesian University of Technology as an example. A comparison of the vehicle's traction qualities before and after the drive conversion, results of laboratory tests on a chassis dynamometer and measurements of the range of the tested motorcycle, including the effect of temperature and speed on its range after modification, were presented. Parameters characterizing changes in the vehicle dynamics for both types of drive systems are determined and the operational advantages of the conversion are presented.
